“I took a deep breath and listened to the old brag of my heart. I am, I am, I am.”

- Sylvia Plath

Welcome to Day 6!

108 Breaths to Freedom

Today is Day 6 of your 8 day 108 Breaths to Freedom challenge. You’re doing amazing!

Today, we’ll do our second pranayama practice. This is intended to be a calming practice that you can practice at any time of day and perhaps at a time when you’d like to relax. You’ll use your threshold breath that we ascertained over Days 1 thru 4, so you will need:

15 Minutes of uninterrupted time to focus & practice
A comfortable quiet place to sit, either on the floor or in a chair
Your threshold breath number

Ready?

Click the link below, do the exercise, and then come back and take a few moments to reflect on your experience using the reflection questions below. If you can, take a few moments before this pranayama practice to do some breath-centric movement. This will help you find a full breath to practice with.

Day 6 Reflection Questions: Did you feel calmer after the practice? If not, did you notice any changes in your energy level? What was that like? When can you see that it would be useful for you to practice a calming pranayama practice?

Thank you for offering this class. The breath...its everything right!? connection, energy, awareness. It’s simply powerful—and the basis for all. And in my heart I feel it’s one of the most important things one can do to help create a kinder, more loving world community.
