About Jen Peterson

Jen has been studying and practicing yoga and meditation for over 11 years. She has over 1000 hours of yoga teaching experience and has been instructing and sharing yoga since 2012.

Both her personal practice and teaching are grounded in awakening to the mind, body, spirit connection.  She is passionate about the restorative and healing power of embodiment that yoga offers and loves sharing that with others.

Through her studies and her own personal healing journey through a back injury she has developed a gentle and accessible teaching style influenced by both yin and yang asana traditions.  Students and clients who work with Jen appreciate her gentle and supportive presence and have experienced deep growth and healing in their work with her.

She received her 200hr RYT from Asheville Yoga Center and is a registered Yoga Alliance instructor.  She has over 200 additional training hours related to study of Yin Yoga, Somatic Movement, Physiology and Anatomy, Fascial Systems, Yoga Therapeutics, Thai Massage, Ashtanga Vinyasa and Yoga Philosophy. She is grateful to her teachers Sarah Powers, Liz Koch, Tom Myers, Elissa Cobb, Kristin Borquist, Heidi Bock, Christine Hoar, Nancy Gilgoff, David Garrigues, David Williams, Shala Worsley, Gil Hedley, Michael Johnson, and Joe Taft.
